Juneteenth became a federal holiday on June 17, 2021, when President Joe Biden signed the Juneteenth National Independence Day Act into law. This designation established the annual commemoration of the end of slavery in the U.S. as the eleventh federal holiday. 

Honoring Juneteenth

The Jabari Society, Englewood’s chapter of the International Association of Black Professional Firefighters, proudly hosts a 4-day festival and parade, commencing with a flag raising, followed by 3 days of festivities and a parade.

Experiences Await

Attendees can immerse themselves in a vibrant atmosphere filled with food vendors offering diverse cuisines, captivating art displays showcasing local talent, enlightening lectures covering historical and cultural topics, and a special wristband Friday providing discounted rides for children under 13.
